Worship Service

Sunday morning Worship Service is held at 11AM in the Main Sanctuary.

Worship Service at Calvary Presbyterian Church is held in a traditional style with an emphasis on respectful and reverent worship of God "...in spirit and in truth."

The service is conducted by the Elders through Scriptural readings, prayer, hymns, and a sermon message by the Pastor or guest preacher.

The regulative principle for our church service seeks to fulfill what God explicitly and clearly states as His Will for worship, in the Bible.

We sing hymns from the Trinity Hymnal, as well as other selected works from the traditional Psalter, or from more modern hymnal volumes.

During the Offering, there is usually a choral offertory by the Calvary Presbyterian Church Choir, or in lieu there may be an instrumental (violin, guitar, flute, handbell, etc.) offertory.

As a church in the Reformed tradition, we emphasize the importance of learning from the Bible, so the largest single portion of church worship is usually the sermon. There is usually a reading of the Bible that goes with the sermon, and then a exposition and lesson that the preacher will share based on the passage or passages read.

Of course, the best way to learn about the Worship Service at Calvary Presbyterian is to see for yourself. We are always eager to welcome new visitors, and please do not hesitate to ask an usher or deacon for help if you have any special needs or questions.
